A week isn't that long.

Usually a company has an accepting time of about 2 weeks where they take in applications

then there is a week or two that managers or an HR department will review resumes or applications

then a week of making contact

then a week of interviews

then a final decision

Follow Up
This is probably the most important part of getting a job. Employers look for candidates who have the ability to follow up with customers, because it shows a willingness to get involved and be responsible. Always make a follow up call or get in touch with the potential employer. Usually, it's best to wait about a week to make a call, and when you do, make sure to get on the phone with the person who will be hiring. Don't rely on someone else to leave the right message for you.

If its been a week I would definitly call and ask about your application. I don't know the usually response time but when I was looking for work I called the places that put I my applications in at. Just tell them your name and let them know that you want to know if they have had time to look over your application. Let them know that you are still interested in the position if its available. Also don't wait get out there and apply to as many places you can. If you end up with two job offers thats awsome! Take the one that you want most. Good luck!

Scam. I can also add there is no "Khalifah Road" in the area/address given (there is a Shk. Khalifah road in another area but not the one mentioned), as well as there are no recruitment agencies in that area any way. Interesting that there is no UAE phone or website; the scam "uaestaffing" has branches as far as US & Europe but some how not any in UAE capital ; a dead giveaway!. It is also against UAE labor law to pay anything to recruitment agencies even legitimate ones have to refund such money if they ever did charge for it, as they are already being paid by the employer. Most of these scams are originating from Nigeria through 3rd parties in other countries so beware where your money is being laundered. Next time you are not sure who is behind the website check the internic Whois records , it will show you the name of who registered that website and what credit card they used.

Go back and tell them you are checking on your application, and when would be a good time for you to meet with them to discuss how your skill sets fit the job. They like it when you show interest!
Good luck : )
