No ... animals do not have the egocentric illusions that humans have, they are not fully aware of being alive, so they do not think about life from the self-conscious point of view or much into the future- they just live it the best they can moment by moment.

Very interesting question... I tend to think they don't, because they are ruled by instincts and not emotions. Instincts don't tell you to take your own life, they tell you to fight for it. I do think animals have emotions, and can lose the will to live and deprive themselves of food and water and die as a result, but I don't think their intention when that happens is to take their own life.

I don't think so. animals lives are primarily run by instinct. survival of the fittest. But then again, I'm not inside an animals head, so i can't prove that 100%

Nah, the only animals even proven to be self-aware are chimps and gorillas.

Probably most other animals only think about licking their own butts.

No, because animals do not have similiar problem like we human do. Besides, their brain only can think of survival.

I don;t think they do. the Pilot whales are responding to some ancient call and lemmings are not that suicidal
