You are always taking a risk when buying used, I usually recommend buying new, that way if it is bad you have protection in the form of a warranty.

By the way, its would be annoying enough for someone to post a song they wrote, but he didn't even write that, unless Fred Durst has been reduced to posting on Yahoo Answers.

If by memory you mean RAM, then the answer would be no. RAM is a chip that when exposed to the environment can be damaged by static electricity. If I were to rub my head a little to violently then touch the device it would be renedered useless.

If by memory you mean a Hard Drive, then yes. Just make sure the source which you purchase the used hard drive is reliable.

Typically yes, its safe, however make sure you have some sort of guarantee that it'll work. Memory doesn't really wear out, but if it's been overclocked, shorted out or something similar, it could be nothing more than a very light paperweight.

as soon as you get your memory, download memtest86 , run about 4 passes and if you get 0 errors good, if you get any errors return the memory and get some more. corsair is good, make sure its compatible.
