why is this matter being decided by men? it seems very contradictory. i'm not saying that men shold not have a say, but really, it's the women's choice and we should have more say in it than men do.
and another thing: what do people think of abortion? i see why it is bad, but can't a women have the choice? what about rape? for example: an eight year old is sometimes (but very rarely) capable of having a child. she is raped and is pregnent. are you going to let a second grader go through pregnency and have a child that they will probably not be able to care for?

I'm behind you 100%. It should be the woman's choice! It's her body. What about these women that become pregnant by a man that wants nothing to do with her? What if she has little or no income? What if she has no means of seeing a doctor regularly? What if she has no way to care for the newborn? There are alot of factors that need to be looked at before someone goes pointing fingers!!

While I have very strong feelings against abortion, I also have strong feelings against incest, rape and child molestation. A young girl should not be subjected to sex, but it happens and it happens more times than we know and out of these sexual encounters more times than most a pregnancy arises. A young girl should not be subject to pregnancy and birth, it puts such a harsh strain on her young body and childbirth is no picnic. It is a sad reality and as a mother of three daughters, I would kill a man or woman, for that fact for the molestation of a child I don't even know and I would gladly do the time. The childhood years are so few, why should they be interrupted by some grown ups sick demented sexual tendencies. I would approve of abortion in the instances of rape, a very young mother or even an for a handicapped female and I also approve of vigilante style justice for the rapers, molesters, etc., I want to be president of that club.

Rape isn't sex; it is a violent act of hatred! So yes regardless of the females age I can understand the action to abort the child.
I can also understand the reason a woman would not abort the child.
As for other areas of abortion-------non rape----- the way I see it the woman has a choice. Refuse to have sex or consent to have sex. If she refuses then for sure the woman is not going to get pregnant. If she agrees to the sex then she is responsible for the consequences.
If she finds herself pregnant then she does not have a choice!!
No it is not her body! It is the body of another human being within her body. That's the way it was designed. When the male sperm meets the female egg then just as sure as a women have wombs the egg is going to split into two cells. Then four cells, then eight cells, then sixteen cells, then thirty two cells, then sixty four cells, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera!
This results in another body......as in not yours!
With this the woman is obligated to bring the body to term and THE WOMAN DOES NOT HAVE A CHOICE HERE!! She had the choice to engage in sex or not.She does not have the right to decide the her childs fate in the womb.
She is obligated to care for the life she has copulated for.
It's black and white I know; but there times to bring this into your decisions. Right or wrong. Yes or no.
Decisions have to be graded.

i sense a lot of hostility in you. take a deep breath and relax.

how is the matter of abortion being decided by men?

abortion is legal, in canada, is it illegal were you come from, is this why i sense hostility.

abortion should be decided by both men and woman. after all children are the creation of both sexes and are the responsibility of both sexes.

woman should not have more say in abortion rights. it should be decided equally between men and woman. do you have any idea how many men cry themselves to sleep because there partner killed there child??? i feel bad for men that they have no rights as parents when the child is in utero. the woman holds the baby hostage as the man weeps for his unborn.

i'm pro choice. i think all people have free will and it should be so. i could never kill a baby myself, i don't have the heart for it. although i have never been in an unfortunate situation that would make me consider it.

Who says this is being decided by men? Why should woman have more say then men? It takes two to make a baby last I checked. I am not a fan of abortion but If someone truely feels that is the best decision than so be it. Let them have it. If you are agaist abortion why would it be ok to let any one have one? Why would age matter? The point would be that you are killing a human being. I think it's silly when people say stuff like that.

i dont think a 8 years old girl will have their monthly perios yet becuase most poeple have it between 11 to 17 years old. I dont disagree with abortion but some religious think it is a sin. But i can see that if u r rape or u cant care for the baby if u r pregnant. Rape is the answer to abortion but if u cant care for the baby is not the answer becuase if u know u r not ready then say NO to sex.

I might as well start out by saying I am very against abortion... I was adopted so it is quite a personal thing for me as well, since I was supposed to be aborted. Anyways, I just wanted to prepare you for a biased answer. I say it should be decided by BOTH men and women since it takes two to make a child. There is a large emotional toll on fathers when they are held in limbo, waiting for their g/f or spouse to decide the verdict on their child's life. Also, the women (generally) has the choice of whether or not to have sex, so she knows the consequences of her choices, and since I support women choosing whether or not to have sex, I feel I am pro-choice. Now in the case of rape, things differ somewhat. In the case of an eight year old girl, there could be some major health risks, and if this is the case I would support abortion because it puts the mothers health at risk to have the child. In the case of rape though, normally, I feel that the child should not have to suffer for what its biological perverted father did. It is possible that my biological father raped my mother (I don't know the full story, all I know is she was not dating him at the time, and he likely does not know I exist for whatever reason, but she refused to state the circumstances of how I was conceived) but I don't feel I deserved to die, even if I was conceived out of rape. No matter what, rape will be a traumatic situation, but why should we just extend the harm rape will do by killing an unborn baby? Like I said, this is a biased answer, more based on emotion than fact in a lot of cases, because I like my life and I am glad I was given the chance to live it.

You are right, it is disgustingly cruel to force anyone who is not fully developed themselves, to have a child. I think people need to watch the type of advice they give to girls who need help. It is wrong to bully someone into keeping a baby that they do not want to carry to term simply because you believe its wrong to abort. Any female who expresses a displeasure with being pregnant needs to be asked whether or not they feel like carrying a baby to term, if the answer is no, then those ladies need to be directed to a place in which they can get an abortion. No more of this harassment from church groups operating bogus help centers for teen girls. Keep your religion to yourself!

I'm not trying to be rude, but you sound very selfish. It's sounds like everything is about you, not the baby, not the daddy. The only choice a man and woman should make is whether to raise the child or give it up for ADOPTION if you cannot care for the child. Don't punish the child because you were raped or the child has a mental disability. You're basically saying they're less deserving at a chance at life because of your own inconveniences.

You are delusional if you think women are free. They are beeing conditioned, by the media, which is goverment control. Setting up women for a career making abortion avaiabel to them and making them want abortion, it is all to control their wombs, to keep our population from doubling every few generations, eventually cutting it down a bit. Thats why we need to export the "Americans way" or what it has become to other countries, to keep them from breeding like rats untill they reach critical mass and will start to starf like it happend in Russia or Africa (although it happend for different reasons in Africa). If we wouldnt tell women that they need to seek fulfillment elsewhere than only in motherhood, they would keep having those 2-5 children in America and Europe with disastrious results in the long run.
