I have a 1972 Chevy Nova SS with a 454 in it. (Corvette engine…I think)
It is in good condition but still needs a little work.
Right now the paint is good still the original paint too (pumpkin orange)
I want to really make it a nice car, more so then it already is.
I just want to views on how to make it even better.
Right now I know I want to get some black 20” rims. And I want to get a new paint job but 2 tone, possibly Orange and black. But not sure how it want to set the 2 tone up.
And a nice sound system…

to tell u the truth the more original u keep it the better. but thats just my opinion. i would keep that paint but i believe its chevy orange if its the original paint which was very popular in '72 so by keeping the paint job ur holding the value. very nice car but i think my '71 chevelle just might be able to take it haha. j/p. really just do what u want with it and express urself in the car. have fun and enjoy it

While 20" rims are the bomb these days on a classic car like that I wouldn't change rim size nor would I change rims. Years ago the thing to do if you had a car like that was to put Cragar S/S rims with wide 60 series tires in the rear and 70 series in the front. These days a much more popular and value retaining option is to keep the tire size closer together and replace the rims with the factory mags. The paint is probably original and I would go back with the Chevrolet Orange. If the car is a true S/S it should have come with a 350cu. It should have the S/S emblems not only on the quarter panels but also on the grill. The only changes I would even consider and that would be only if you weren't planning to show it would be to have the interior redone in a black tuck and pleat. That'd be a sweet ride. The Chevelle was a much more popular version of the Chevy muscle car and in the S/S version usually came with a 396cu that would easily take the 350 Nova.

Options

Paint ORANGE CRUSH or the Chevy Hugger Orange
But don't go with the White SS stripes Pick some thing different
Everyone seems to use the White Strips. Black with the pin stripe edge?

I like the idea of Orange with Carbon Fiber or Black Cowl hood.
Wildwood Brakes, than add wheels 20" rear 18" fronts and Hotchkis Suspenion ? G Machine ....

454 get the code off the front right of the motor and got to Nastyz28.com and you can decode it...

Last the grille, Look at the sides change the paint cover corners to the 68 to 70 Grill edges... Custom Grill instead of SS grill.

unless your making a dork mobile out of it. Forget the 20 inch wheels. Stick with 14 or 15 inch wheels. If you incest on 20 go ruin another car and leave the Nova alone.

paint it as a car that may be from the hit series g-force
make your own design but follow the format

you can check out items from the show & implement some touches

this will not only attract to the car what is nostalgic about it but about the popular show as its cult following
