Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in China.

If you're really that concerned, call Apple up and have them verify the serial number. Each one is supposed to be unique, and they should have a database that can identify the specific model/color by that number.

What I've seen written on most iPods is that it was fabricated in the USA and assembled in China. If your iPod says so, don't worry. Its original. It would have been helpful, though if you had stated the country where yours was made.

They're all made in China. Unfortunately so are the fakes. One quick way to find out if yours is a fake is to check the slider button. On the fakes it is labeled as an ON/OFF switch, on an original iPod it is the HOLD switch.

Also the fakes look REALLY fake. It's hard to be fooled unless you've had your head in the sand for several years.

I bought my ipod from Best Buy brand new... and on the back of mine, it states "Assembled in China"....

I think it is safe to say that the actual ipod itself is not manufatured here in the US, so no worries...
