I have my 38 week appt tom and it will be the first time that I am getting an internal exam besides the first appt with the ultrasound. Is it going to hurt?

no it doesnt hurt! but yeah you may feel little shy and embrassed... in front of the doctor.. the only way you can be is try to be cool, just remember that you are not allow who the doctor has or will be checking and it is for the good of you and your baby!! so relax mom..

It really depends. You need to make sure that you aren't tense first of all. Relax those muscles down there. If you can maybe ask them not to use the cold metal thingies...I like to ask for the plastic ones....It doesn't feel any different than your first one unless you're having constant contractions or cramping. The key thing is not to be tensed up. Good Luck

I think it is more uncomfortable then anything. It really isn't any worse then your yearly exam. The labor and birth now that hurts, the exam is a cake walk compared to that.

No more than your normal annual exam. Jut a bit of pressure as they try and determine if your cervix is beginning to efface (thin) and dilate. Good luck!

it does not hurt, although it is not exactly plesant. I found that my siatica was aggitated after a cervix check. Luckily there were only a few to endure before it was baby time!

No I have had five babies and if anything maybe just a lttle uncomfortable ,but not hurt....Just relax mOm you will be fine...

no, i have had both there maybe a small amount of pressure but don't worry you'll do just fine
