Not really, although, if your diet isn't good, as in, heavy in fats and processed food, the probiotics may just be, ahem, "cleaning house" (digesting a whole lot of gunk left behind in your system). I am not a nutritionist, so can't say for sure if that's what's going on, but that's my best theory. Cut back on them- often, it's a question of easing them into your diet. Personally, with celiac disease and lactose intolerance I find probiotics have done wonders for me, and I don't even take them all the time. If they are making you too gassy though, again, cut back, because your disgestion may be in overdrive. Hope that helps!

Yes! They can initially and its nothing to worry about. Your body may need to adapt to the strains of bacteria and the general flora is altering (the yeats and bacteria alive in your gut), and wastes may be eliminated that have been stagnant. Some people also may have looser stools and even mild gas initially. If you are concerned, you can take a smaller dosage and build up to a full dosage over several days. You likely need the probiotics (or lacto-fermented foods) to build up your flora again. Id definitely stick with it.

No it should not cause your BM to smell. I would stop the probiotics and see if clears up. If does then you need to try a better brand of probiotics. If it doesn't clear up then you may want to talk to your doc to find out what is going on.

The probiotics are used to kick start your digestive tract. When undigested food gets stuck in your intestional tract and colon the probiotics get things moving again. So now your experiencing old waste and toxins being released. It won't last forever. I would suggest a colon cleanse or enema, to speed thing along.

Yes! Quality probiotics can cause this. Over time, these 'side-effects' usually diminish as your bowel microbiota adjust to the new organisms.
Best wishes and good luck.
