No, I wouldn't. That'd be petty and immature to stoop down to their level. The truth can be more painful and I would stick to my own moral choices and be truthful and dump this so-called friend.

No, two wrongs don't make a right. I would confront them if I knew factually that they lied. Why would friends lie to each other?

If your "friend" has lied to you, I would question the people you label as friends. To lie in return is inmature and only makes you look as bad as the liar. Be the bigger person, be honest and meet new friends.

2 wrongs don't make a right, be the bigger person and don't lie to your friend just because they lied to you.

No I would call them out on their lie and ask them why they felt they needed to lie about it. You can't build a friendship on lies!!!

Absolutely not. Don't be guilty of the things you hate. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Karma is real - what comes around goes around. Hold your head high and be the best person you can be, in spite of whatever crap people give you.

2 wrongs don't make a right. Just because they lie, there is no reason you should become a liar too.

No. To justify your bad behavior by citing a wrong by someone else is obscene and offensive, and is intellectually cowardly and lazy.
