im buying a les paul jr and i want that cheap *** pickup out.
can i put in a normal dogear p90 there?
will it fit?

I did with my SG junior although I used a "soapbar" & not the "dog ear" kind....the P-90 pickup has a great sound to it! Is it a Gibson P-90???

I'm assuming you're talking about an Epiphone Les Paul Jr......since the Gibson's already have a P-90 in them.
Epiphone now makes a version of the Les Paul Jr. with a P-90 already in it.....you should get that one instead of the one with the humbucker....it will make things easier. If not, yes, you can put a P-90 in there, but it won't look that great....you'll have some extra space on both sides of the pickup.

Gibson makes a single coil pickup that fits in a Humbucker slot. It's called a P-94
