you know,if one of the comet start forwarding towards our planet or one of the flare of sun start reaching towards our planet, how come they would be able to save this planet from this certain destruction?

i think they can only inform us in advance "ohhh one comet is going to strike against the Earth run run , go go go " this would be the altimate "action" from space centres and space scientists for us. Is this so miserable? If one of us would ask them , how long you were in space and what have you achieved? their reply would be "we took alot pics and movies of our fixed planets and sun" but sadly we couldnt save you from this disaster.

Only saving their satellites from this risk isnot enough for the existance of such probe in space. Saving lifes would be considered one the biggest achievement. But i think science is just paying more time on just "observation"
let i tell you the power of this science "science is not yet able to build a small fly" open chanllenge!

ohhh i think, i've set a very diffictul task for this "science". let i reduce the level of difficulty. "even if the fly steal a grain of sugar from them, science wont be able to take it back" open chanllenge :-)

this is indeed a very little example, how come they would be able to face the big ones! eyes, comets, flames, collisions, earthquakes, floods etc

Scientists have succeeded in teaching an ape to communicate.

perhaps you could learn something from scientists after all?

Astronomers are not in the business of being astronomers so that they can save people, they do what they do for the betterment of human knnowledge, every picture or video they take out in space helps them understand more about our solar system. The satelites that they have orbiting the sun right now were not designed to save the planet from asteroids or meteors, they are there for observation. There are some plans out there right now that could be put into effect if one of these observing units does detect something cataclysmic that might save the earth, but if such an object existed, it would probably go unnoticed until too late. True, science cannot yet build something that can rival mother nature, but my guess is that we will. The sum of human knowledge roughly doubles every two years. Imagine where we'll be in ten, or even twenty.
