You can think you're cool! What makes you someone that people would classify as that. I guess I'm cool because I don't follow what other people do. I pretty much set my own version of what's "in". And to the guy that says God made you cool...man you rock! I liked that one lol

I suppose what cool actually is is if people respect you. They aren't scared of you, they don't feel sorry for you, they respect and like you. Ever notice how the jerk think he's cool but when he's out of the room everybody talks crap on him? That's not cool. I'm not talking about the gossip being out of jealousy, I'm talking about "that guy's such a jerk!" If you are "cool" people enjoy being around you, they enjoy your company. Objects don't make you cool, neither does money. All those do is make people notice you, but not necessarily respect and like you. I knew this one guy who gave people free money, but people made fun of him and talked about him. And there is no cool kid in school really. Each social class seems to have their own definition of cool. The cool kid in the rich kid, urban kid group may seem completely different in the smart kid group. Ever see what it's like when you mix the skater kids with the country kids? Not pretty. lol

Ya, I always stay cool. I never lose my temper or freak out.
From looking at everyone elses's answers, I have determined that I have a diferent definition of cool. To me it means that only signifigant circumstances cause stress. It could also mean that a person is graceful.

The main way to become cool is:
"Don't swear the small stuff"
Most things in life are "small stuff" but people who're emotional get dramatic or carry around excessive bagage and they in turn become 'cynical'. You don't want to be either a cynic or drama queen.
To play it cool means you just let it slide off and move on.

I'm not cool right now, but I was earlier today. I went outside and took pictures of all the cool ice-laden branches. In fact, I just had to reach up and break icicles off and see how thick the ice was... and see if there were leaf imprints in the ice... and when I came back indoors, my fingers were FREEZING! And when I touched my face with my fingertips, I felt REALLY cool.
Now I'm hot again.
Then again, it's cool to be hot, right?
But I'm not THAT kind of hot.
Just kind of sweaty.
