I think she's amazingly overrated and borders on completely perverted. I read her erotic work and it wasn't so much erotic as just a poorly written smut. Her vampiric works are supposedly aimed toward teen/adult crowds but her plot-writing is the level you see in Berenstein Bears. It's absurd. She is always predictabe and absolutely uninspired.

I bought "Intervew With a Vampire" back when it first came out. I'm almost sure that was in 1978. Once I cracked that book open, I stayed up all night reading it until I finished it. I was hooked. I met Anne Rice--oh maybe 8 years ago and I told her that I wished that she would live forever, in that I hope her work never dies. She's amazing and I have the greatest respect for her. I will forever more read anything that woman writes. I am a fan.

I admire her for being "all over the board" when it comes to the subjects of her novels. My favorite book ever is "The Witching Hour", it kept my interest 100% and I truly did not want to put it down. I've read many of her "vampire" books but didn't find them as good. Her "Beauty" trilogy was a great series read as well. There are times when her style of writing is hard to compute, she often goes too much into detail about some things. Overall I enjoy her work and think she's one the better authors out there.

They saved me when I was in high school, I have loved them until, well I still love them. Though her new book something about Christ coming out of Egypt is a total wash. At the end, she tries to justify why when she married she wasn't a christian anymore. I absolutely love the Vampire Chronicles not so much the Mayfair witch books or her S&M books, haven't ever read those.

She was so much more interesting before she became born again. I mean if you look at the later work in the Vampire chronicles, especially Mnemnoch the Devil she definitely was leaning towards something...but I also think that one was one of the worst.

Go back to Satan God liked you better.

i LOVED her vampire chronicles because they were so beautifully written. the woman has talent! she made you fall in love with these horrible creatures. and she really paints a beautiful picture when she describes the time periods. its almost a history lesson but in entertainment form. she also wrote erotica. the sleepy beauty novels were incredible! wow...very weird and kinky but mind blowing....and read "belinda". that was really good too!

I love her vampire chronicles. But I don't much like her erotica work. Haven't read her later books.

Ypu should read her erotic novels. The Beauty trilogy! It shocked me, but then her style dawned on me. Its nice she stepped out farther. But of course she is noted for her being vampirish.
