This is an old book, but it is new to me.
"Skeletons in the Zahara"
It is about 12 white sailor who became slaves to Arab tribes in the Sahara Desert. What happened to them and how some of them survived, and who saved their life. They were enslaved by the Arabs, and saved by the Arabs and an English man.
Good book, if you can read it, I think you will like it. It shows that no matter how different we are, all of us in one way or another are the same. We want to live, and survive.

Great characters and a good plot.
Summer Knight, a book in the Dresden files book series. It narrates the story of Harry Dresden, chicago's only professional wizard who works as a detective. In this book he deals with the Summer and Winter Courts of the fey.Apparently they are about to go to war.An event which was triggered by the death of the Summer Knight.Queen Mab of the Winter Court hires Harry to find out the true killer.
Scaramouche by Rafael Sabatini. When his best friend, a young clergyman, is killed in a mockery of a duel by an arrogant noble, just to quiet his eloquent expressions of democratic ideals, Andre-Louis Moreau vows revenge. From that point, through meteoric careers as a consummate actor and scenario writer, then as a fencing master, and finally a politician, the brilliant Moreau keeps thwarting the aims of the aristocratic Marquis de la Tour d'Azyr. However, the nobleman causes pain to Moreau as well, and the time must come when the two will meet to settle their enmity once and for all. You are not likely to guess how their confrontation finally turns out. Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, this swashbuckling novel is exciting throughout, and it presents one of the most dashing heroes in fiction, a man who can fight equally well with his mind, his mouth, his pen, and his sword, a man who stirs up events wherever he goes.

Wow! What a difficult question to answer. I guess my favorite would be The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I couldn't put it down. I love the way that it is written in five different points of view (depending on what chapter you're in). I am a minister's wife, and I really identify with the characters especially the wife. I know what it's like to feel obligated to go somewhere you don't want to go in the name of being a Christian wife. It reminds me so much of Kate Chopin's "The Story of An Hour" but on a much larger scale. I absolutely loved it, and after reading it I just couldn't stop thinking about it.

I just read "Inside My Heart" by Robin McGraw and I felt really inspired. She is a testament to the fact that you choose your life and legacy.
One of my old favorite books is "Ten Stupid Things Women Do To Mess Up Their Lives" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. I wish every woman had this book.
Lovers and Players by Jackie Collins
It was page turning entertainment
And last but not least
Toxic Bachelors by Danielle Steel

I can't decide between Peter Pan and Sense & Sensibility. I like Peter Pan because it's like a little kid story, so I read it when I'm feeling like I don't want to grow up or just stressed out. It's imagination at its best!
I like Sense & Sensibility because the story is great and easy to follow. I love the two romances that take very different routes but both Elinor and Marianne end up happy. I'm a sucker for happy endings in romance stories. I love Austen's style of writing, although she has written some long sentences that are hard to follow.

Mine is '1984' by George Orwell. Reason I: Orwell is my favorite author and I read nearly all of his literary works, his writing is magnificent and fantastic. Reason II: it's one of the 100 books as listed in the web site below.

Valley of the Dolls. It was my first "grown-up" novel. It's a classic in it's own right and I just love how everyone had issues and nobody was perfect.
