no, they want to find out if it smells as good as it looks.

Depends on how they smell it. You can tell if someone is "sniffing it to check it" versus someone who smells it to enjoy the aroma or are curious in the culinary sense.
The first, would of course be annoying, but some people are dumb like that, and probably think MickyD's is the best food out there.
The second, I don't mind because they are taking time to appreciate all the senses engaged by good food.

I actually have the habit of smelling food before I eat it. So, no...it doesn't annoy me.

No. Because you actually eat with your eyes and sense of smell. If it looks good and smells good you're more likely to eat it.

Actually (blushes) I do the smelling... I know if I like the smell then I'll like the food.

sure i smell it not to insult them just to smell how good it is even if it's terrible i will eat it anyway cause a friend made it for me
thats just the way i am and then tell them they make an amazing dinner just not to hurt them

oh yes pretty much, i hate those kind of people. I wouldn't eat food that people had smell on them.
