If it's a plug in unplug it, if not disconnect the wires in the box. Then under the sink there should be 3 screws on the disposal..loosen them and then turn the shank they were connected to counter clock wise. You can use a screw driver and a hammer to pop it loose with. Then it should slide out. It may be very Heavy, so be carefull.

Keep in mind to install the counter top means removing the entire sink. You can leave the disposal on the sink, you just need to disconnect the plumbing going to the disposal.

Depending on your pipe, its a slip fitting on the trap that can be loosened with a pipe wrench. Loosen both fittings on either side of the trap and remove it and then its just a matter of disconnecting the water supply lines and lifting the sink off from the counter.

Usually the sinks are bolted to the counter from below with little clamps if its a stainless steel model. If its cast iron like mine, its usually sealed to the counter top with silicone caulk.

Hi, first thing is unplug it . That's very important. Next there's a little plate that holds, the drain pipe going into it ,in place. It has Philip head screws. You need to take that off,and pull the pipe away from the disposer . I'm not to strong, so I get a jack to help hold the unit when it drops down. Than turn the whole thing counter clockwise, until it drops from the bracket that holds it into place. The End. That's all there is to it. Good luck .

I do about three of these a week. I work for a countertop company named Granite Transformations. If you just do as metrodish says above, you'll be home free. I would pick his as best answer.
