you have failed at failing

It takes no effort to fail. If you were trying at all, you could not succeed in failing. It is only through no effort at all that one can be considered a failure, since effort in itself reaps its reward. Therefore, you cannot succeed at failure if you try to. You must make no effort at all in order to fail. Any success is a negation of failure, so you have succeeded.

Both! You have succeeded at succeeding the task, and failed at failing your goal.

you have done both. the fact that you set out to fail was your goal. in attaining your goal you have succeeded. the meer fact that you determined that you wanted to fail in the first place, demonstrates a failure. Cool!
