I was raised in a house where my parents were very politically active (Step-Father was an elected office holder mother was Republican County chairperson). During the Reagan years I got. Cold War Spending, Anti-Carter feelings, tremendous economic growth, etc. I get it..... How can anyone put a "W" sticker on thier SUV. I don't get it. Republicans today are far from conservative. I don't get credit cards in my kids name and max them out. Why does my government? My rights are not a something I take lightly. Noone is against listening to suspected terrorists phone calls but this government does not have the right to listen to mine of yours without a warrant. The Republican party thinks you believe Iraq attacked us.... guess what they didn't. They claim that they ent to Iraq for WMDs then it was the bin laden link then it was bringing democracy then mid east stability............ now it's so terrorists won't controll the oil flow. OIL? This is all about oil? Really? Thanks republicans.....

Well, I certainly wouldn't be proud to be supportive of the Democratic party. They are statistically less intelligent, less educated, and less successful.
These are STATISTICAL FACTS.

Between the two I think it makes a hell of a lot more sense to be proud to be a Republican.

I certainly don't want to be a "proud" unintelligent, uneducated, unsuccessful hippie.

About the deficit...
I don't think that you really understand what the deficit is.

Let me explain.
If you buy a house for $100,000 and get a mortgage of $80,000, then you are $80,000 dollars in debt.
That sounds bad.
But don't forget that you own a house worth $100,000.
The deficit isn't a bad thing. It just means that we have things that we haven't paid for yet.
If we traded in all of our capital, we would be, by far, the richest country in the world. Don't look at it like we have all this debt and nothing to show for it. We have more to show for it than any other country on Earth.

Sure- we have debt.
But we have more capital.

About the WMDs. We have found over 500 chemical and biological WMDs. Maybe you don't think that Sarin Nerve gas is too bad. Or maybe you just don't read the news.

Don't worry buddy. The Gov't isn't listening to your phone calls. Not unless you are calling your Al Qaeda brothers over in Islamabad. Relax. You'll give yourself an ulcer.

If you don't think that Democracy in Iraq is a good idea you are dumb.

Oil.
Luckily for the Democrats, we've got enough oil now so they can lube us up, raise minimum wage, raise taxes, and completely ruin the value of the dollar on their way to eliminating any chance this country ever had for success.

Mark my words. The value of the dollar will plummett within four years.

Any party is not made up of a bunch of clones who all think one thing or another. Sometimes, too, while someone may agree with the general philosophy of a party they do not necessarily agree (or disagree for that matter) with what individuals within that party think or do. There are also times when a person who shares many of the philosophies of a party may not like one or more individuals who have gained power within that party.

So - that is how Republicans can be proud Republicans.

While there may be more "hook, line, and sinker" thinking among people who call themselves, Democrats, that type of thinking is less common among Republicans by virtue of a philosophy that leans more toward encouraging independence of the individual as opposed to the philosophy of underestimating the individual and instead emphasizing too much government.
