Kids no longer seem like kids. Back in the '80s and '90s kids actually played outside and had fun with there friends, they werent concerned about dating or having a cell phone. Now kids in 4th grade have cellphones and are dating. Why has everything changes so much in the past 10 years?

Because society changed the rules based on what the media has presented- it's a "me-me-me" generation. But also, it was safer back then- I didn't have to worry about locking the car door or answering the door- we have locks now. Kids are being forced to grow up faster and become adults, which I find tragic- kids should be kids and only when they start to experience the ups, downs and trials and tribulations life enforces in their direction.

I don't believe there is just one answer to that question.
Pedophiles are one reason kids don't play outside, not to mention there is rarely a parent at home to watch over them. The culture has changed and changed all of us. We are all more material minded these days. Have you seen MTV lately?
