Definitely a nightmare and mostly to the GIVER that's only if the receiver knows how to rise above the pettiness and handle things with a right attitude. I myself have been a victim of terrible jealousy & meanness many, many times and it has caused immense grief. It hurts really bad no doubt about it. But each time I face such a situation I always try to rise above it becog that way we get a bigger picture and we're definitely in a better position. Then I ask God to give me the wisdom and grace to go through it. And finally I try to remind myself who I am - to some it may sound arrogant but its NOT becog I think its extremely important to always remember our TRUESELF - the kind of people we really are. This is the only thing that would prevent us from backsliding. Becog I've always thought many years down the lane I dont want to see myself a bitter person.
Jealousy and meanness are still there in my life and I know it'll always be there in some form or shape but they don't have to define the kind of person I want to be. And that's a great relief. And so I'm most often peaceful inside - if not always :-) but I guess "most often" counts great deal.
The thing we feel in love is a bit different though - though often it may seems like jealousy but to my knowledge in most cases it is not. When we're in love we feel a certain belongingness and the person we love becomes the most important in our life. So with or without our knowledge we also start to expect the same.Which I think is a very natural human phenomenon.

Disagree. Jealously is in common words a ailment even as there is too a lot of it. even as all and diverse is being negatively laid low with it and it turns right into a project, then it would want to be seen a ailment. i imagine the more effective suited be conscious for this question is "Obsession" or obsessive habit. A small quantity of jealousy can easily be flattering at cases! =)

To understand jealousy is an enormous task.....
It is as many traits are, that is, absolutely useless and meaningless...
It resolves no issues....and yet creates so many....
Its egotistical of the person who creates the jealousy...in a person that takes this situation as flattery....
Which then creates a nightmare for all involved...
GIVER....RECEIVER...ON-LOOKERS!!!
Have a great day...hope this helps....cutie!!

I agree totally. At first you feel flattered that your partner/spouse/boyfriend or girlfriend is jealous but then they get carried away with it and it starts getting on your nerves. My daughter's boyfriend is jealous of her spending time with her best friend because, "You care more about Lenora than you do me". I think jealousy is caused by their insecurities.

Jealousy is a very dangerous emotion and not to be played with or considered lightly! Sometimes it can not be avoided, but always a dangerous one.
