It sounds like you like the thrill of the chase, or you have fears of commitment.

Grocho Marks said, "I would never belong to a club that would have me as a member." It could be you feel a bit the same when it comes to guys and crushes, or ...

Could it be that you are afraid of committment for some reason? Were you hurt in the past? It could be that you are unconsciously avoiding more of the same.

I like "and y knot's" answer above too. You may want to search "Erickson's Psychosocial Stages" for some ideas on where you may fall according to his theories of growth.

You have serious problems. You like someone because you find them attractive and put him on a figurative pedastal. Then when you learn that he likes you, you knock him off of that pedastal. Meaning, if he was really worthwhile, he wouldn't have anything to do with you.
So basically, you don't like YOURSELF. If you don't get that fixed, you will only chase guys that have a prison record.
I would put money on that prediction. Go get some help!

I think that if the guy likes you then you think it will be easy to get him, so you go for the hard-to-get guys. Even though you stop to liking them as a crush, still give them a chance for them to be your friend.

Fear, but it is a normal, healthy and temporary stage of growth. You are just getting your feet wet, so to speak, getting used to the idea of boys. It's new, it 's pschologically risky and you are not ready to do anything but proceed at your own pace. Don't feel like you have to rush through this; it's a survival instinct. Sometimes, your mind and body knows more than you do.

It's fun though, isn't it? :-)
