Lots of ways.
- Back in 2000, I only used winmx
- then I changed to Direct Connect : it is still working. You have the find some anime hubs and meet the requirements : Share gigas of anime, open slots. There you have good chance to find old things that can't be found else where
- then I moved to IRC. There are a few anime server. Most of the subbing team are on rizon.net . There you can find fast sharing bots. You may have to get your name register. It is free.
- there a few good direct download website : mrpc.us is one of them
- then I discovered bittorrent and use this one only. Find a good bittorrent program ( utorrent, bitcomet... ) and search for the anime you want.

- http://www.anidb.net : great anime database : gives you who is subbing what series, the new series to come...
- http://www.animenfo.com : the same as above but not as good
- http://www.animesuki.com : have links to non US licenced-anime, have a good forum
With this you should be able to find almost that have been subbed.

www.baka-updates.com/groups.php is a good one.
If you have an open networking program, like limewire or something, those are VERY useful too!!!!!! (you can get limewire for free at www.limewire.com)

there's one, but limited to anime is anime nuke. but it's fan subbed and there are a few good animes
