Why do gay men assume that if you talk to a guy in a club that you're after sex only?

Because, SADLY, its about the only reason 90% of the OTHER guys come there, including most of our friends.

That's why its so bad that sex, alcohol and the "rest" is involved in a place where its all mixed together. I wish we have a more neutral environment where alcohol wasn't so readily available. Not that I don't like drinking, I do, its just that many drink to excess in order to 'be comfortable' around others and its not always pretty.

The same reason straight men do. Most people don't go to clubs for pleasant conversation, but to party hearty! To some guys, partying hearty includes sex. So assuming you want sex is a guy thing, straight or gay. Some boys know how to party and have a good time without having sex, but quite a few don't.

Hi, If you go to the same club a lot and are firm but nice in saying no to guys that hit on you just for sex...then sooner or later the ones who are there not just for sex will notice....There are some guys who don't go to clubs to get drunk and get laid.
