This sort of depends on the reasons for producing them. I've directed about ten of his plays and the ones that are left that I've always wanted to direct but haven't are 'Troilus and Cressida,' which is a bizarre play that comes across as very modern, and 'As You Like It,' which is also bizarre in its own right.

If I wanted to put together a bill of plays that I thought played particularly well to an audience, however, I would choose 'Much Ado About Nothing' (a total riot when done well) and 'Winter's Tale' (which can be profoundly moving).

Comedy: "A Midsummer's Night Dream," without question. I LOVE that play. I would want to be Puck very, very much, were I male. (I'm counting this as comedy, even though it isn't as strictly "funny" as, say, "Much Ado About Nothing.")

Non-Comedy: That's harder to say. "Hamlet"? Actually, "Twelfth Night" if it would count. It kind of falls somewhere in between. If "Twelfth Night" doesn't count, then "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet," or "The Taming of the Shrew." Or "The Tempest." Or...

Twelfth Night as the comedy, though frankly, when it's done right, it is heartbreakingly tragic.

As for the tragedy, I love Hamlet and King Lear, but if I had to choose between them, the Prince of Denmark would get my vote.

With no real disrespect and assuming you won't take any offense, I will offer my choices, though Willie added both comedy and drama to everything he ever wrote.
