I'm going with the asummption you are talking about in relative to the up coming game.

Looking at their totals this season.

You can take out the one outlier (The game against Philly) from Addai and they look like pretty much the same back.

The playoffs are a weird place where some superstars turn to duds (Look at Peyton this year), and some mediocre players (Deion Branch when he won the SuperBowl MVP), look like super stars.

In the playoffs I always feel more confident with an experienced players.

The percentage of fumbles by first year players in relation to the number of touches is much higher than seasoned vets. Almost 2 to 1. They have a much higher rate of being a goat than a superstar.

So for this weekends game in Indy, I would go with Dillon, except for the fact that he will be splitting carries with Maroney. Who as you can see gets a more than fair amount of play.

Maroney
2006 1 buf 0 0 0 0 0 17 86 0 0 0
2006 2 nyj 0 0 0 0 0 16 65 0 0 1

2006 5 mia 0 0 0 0 0 18 38 0 0 0
2006 7 buf 0 0 0 0 0 8 29 1 1 0
2006 8 min 0 0 0 0 0 8 34 2 33 0
2006 9 ind 0 0 0 0 0 13 63 1 -1 0
2006 10 nyj 0 0 0 0 0 12 37 0 0 0
2006 11 gnb 0 0 0 0 0 19 82 4 34 1
2006 12 chi 0 0 0 0 0 13 33 4 45 1
2006 13 det 0 0 0 0 0 4 14 0 0 0
2006 16 jaq 0 0 0 0 0 7 48 2 10 1
2006 17 ten 0 0 0 0 0 13 73 2 -4 1

All this being said, and comparing the numbers you can see it honestly could be any three of the rb's who could have the best game.

So in conclusion, seeing all the stats, and including the fact that Addai is basically a solo back (Rhodes barely touches the field till the 4th quarter), and Peyton is apparently going to need some help with 5 interception... You have to go with Addai this weekend.

As for the careers, your bet is as good as mine. I would likely say Dillon. Addai hasn't been that much of a stud, and no where near what Carnell did last year. It's too hard to say if he will
1. Get better
2. Say injury free
3. Stay a solo #1 back.

dillon is on his last legs, thats why they got maroney. dillon doesnt have much left in the tank. so obivously take the fresher RB who looks like a star in the making and take addai.

Addai will run for more but Dillon/Maroney combo will prevail
