It doesn't.......... but the republican Party represents "the great white hope" to many Americans who fear or hate other races for one reason or another.

Skin color doesn't have anything to do with job performance. But look at the recent mid-term election held in Tennessee, where Harold Ford (black) ran against a less qualified Bob Corker (white). Corker beat him out by a few thousand votes. The republican Party played the "race" card when they saw Ford ahead in the polls. They ran ads on TV insinuating that Ford had an affair with a white woman. (Even though the woman had never met Ford and admitted it AFTER the election.) The Republicans will, lie, cheat, rig elections, pay off election commissioners, and even murder their Democratic opponents at times to insure they are in power. (Here..... I point to the murder of Democratic State Senator Tommy Burks as an example. He was murdered by his Republican opponent Byron Looper just before an up coming election so that there would be no time left for another Democrat to get on the ballot before the election.) But sometimes they leave a witness alive and get caught. Check this out yourself.........don't take Marilyn's word for it.

So you can see the ugly underlying agenda of the Right-Wing if you just.......... LOOK.

It doesn't. He is half white and half black. The question is simple: Can a black man be elected president in this country in 2008? The answer: If any one can Obama can simply because he is young, handsome, articulate and "the great black hope." Will those other than black and very young vote for him? No. Certainly not when Hillary Clinton is running. She is incredibly capable and qualified. Obama's experience is 2 years in the congress. How pathetic that people might actually want an inexperienced, too-young man to be president simply because he is black. Remember, an inexperienced black man will almost assuredly fail because experience in anything is everything. If he were to fail as president - and he would if elected in 2008 - then it will be another million years before another black man or woman is elected. Shallow thinking is a terrible thing not to point out.
Obama can be vice president but he cannot be president, nor does he want to be. He is shooting for VP so that in 8 years when Hillary finishes her term he will be in good position to become president. THEN he is qualified. Not before. Sorry.

It feels like something you may hear Rev. Wright pontificate. it fairly is variety of reminiscent of the "Black cost device" that Barack Obama's church follows. The "Black cost device" is milder than the Black Panthers' record, yet nonetheless has the thought it fairly is all on the subject of the black community, like they are the only ones who rely. EDIT: The black panthers propose Obama, and that they did have their very own internet site on his internet site, yet after the race concern with Rev. Wright the Obama marketing campaign bumped off the internet site.

Is it just me or is Marilyn the coolest female on this thing. I could not have said it better. The sad part is that so many poor and middle class white Americans have been fooled into thinking that the republicans are actually on their side. Like the indentured servants that came to America believed that the rich land owners liked them better than the black slaves when actually in their hearts there was little difference except maybe they would try to make sure that the indentured servant wouldn't live the full seven years to get their 40 acres and a mule. A working class republican makes about as much sense as a black Klansman or a Jewish Nazi.

I'm pretty right, and I have no problem with the color of his skin.

Why are all righties racists? Bush has put not just one black in the highest cabinet position they've ever held, but TWO. And the left just insults the hell out of them - imagine the outrage if they had been appointed by a Democrat and Republicans talked that way.

Both parties have racists, homophobes, sexists, freaks, and idiots. Oh, and pedophiles - and the left re-elected Studds...so I don't think you guys should get too cocky.

I actually hear more people on the left pointing out his race. And you are right, skin color does not affect job performance. Look at Condi Rice, and the great job she has done.

I have to agree with ''ALWAYS GOTTA KNOW'', Obama needs more experience.
As for color ? My Family Dr. is a black man and that does not bother me, or my family at all.

I haven't noticed any popular conservative or even neo-con mention Barack Obama's race.

Regardless of his color, what exactly has he done in his job performance?

Not really.

I don't think skin color dictates job performance, but the guy isn't ready and he is blowing his one shot at the presidency.

Why don't you tell us, since you're making an issue of it in this forum? It wouldn't matter if he was rainbow colored, he still isn't presidential material and won't be for several years to come. his lack of experience in the real political arena is his downfall right now... also the fact that he's an ultra left wing liberal won't help his cause.
