with a stapler, u know how u can rotate the little table thing u push on to make the staples go outward instead of inward? Why would you do that?

To temporarily hold the papers together so you can remove the staple easily without requiring a stapler remover.

Many years ago I was a legal secretary and we used to do this on purpose to avoid having to dig out the staples with our nails, as we often had contracts in draft format that required changes and new documents to be added.

Then someone invented the Bull Dog clip and our lives were changed forever.

outward staples remove more easily. (we made need to test this theory.)

It holds sheets better, but it works best with fewer pages

i used to do that to the cashiers stapler at work... she hated it
