I first got mine at nine, trust me, I would have been so much happier if I had it at 12 or 13, don't be embarrassed at 12, 13.. imagine, third grade, having your period, and when gym time, you tell the teacher and he doesn't believe you, and then running the mile until you get a leak... third grade sucked ****.

I had the onset of my menstruation at age 10. Ha Ha, beat you!
Seriously, though, this is a natural phenomenon and nothing to be ashamed of. Besides, 12/13 years old is probably the average age for menstrual onset. With this event come a few benefits in physique development although there may be monthly discomfort, too. That's one of the characteristics of being a woman. Welcome!

Ashamed?!?!? Why on earth would you be ashamed? It is just a natural part of growing up. It is celebrated in other cultures with all kinds of ecremonies and festivity. You are just growing up, about to enter a new and exciting phase of your life; within a few short years, you will fall in love... there are so many beautiful things you have to look forward to... :)

I'm not embarrassed and definitely not ashamed. Why be ashamed? It's a natural process for a woman. I got my period when I was 10.
