Yes humans are mammals.

Any animals that feeds their young using milk glands are considered mammals. Humans are animals and human babies drink their mothers' milk, so there you go!

You seem worried about being a mammal ?????? But I'm not sure why. Also please note the correct spelling.

The mammals are the class of vertebrate animals characterized by the production of milk in females for the nourishment of young, from mammary glands present on most species and specialized skin glands in monotremes that seep or ooze milk; the presence of hair or fur; specialized teeth; three minute bones within the ear; the presence of a neocortex region in the brain; and endothermic or "warm-blooded" bodies. The brain regulates endothermic and circulatory systems, including a four-chambered heart. Mammals encompass some 5,500 species (including humans), distributed in about 1,200 genera, 152 families and up to 46 orders, though this varies with the classification scheme.

Phylogenetically, Mammalia is defined as all descendants of the most recent common ancestor of monotremes (e.g., echidnas and platypuses) and therian mammals (marsupials and placentals).

Note that only the female of the species produces milk. When they say 'all mammals produce milk', they mean all species produce milk to feed their young; not every individual mammal, all the time.

Also, if you are an alien from another planet and just happen to be taking a science class and have access to Yahoo Answers, you are not necessarily a mammal. Even if you are producing milk.

I'm just saying.

You are not a mammel but you are a mammal, Mammals have mammary glands that produce milk. Human mother do this so we are mammals... there are other animals that produce milk but are not mammals because they have no specific glands but rather ooze milk from membrane ex. marsupials Kangaroos and in America opossums...hope that helps. you are also an animal and a vertebrate, so we are closely related to whales and porpoises. Quite a leap huh?

i assume it relies upon the way you define the term "hair". in case you define it functionally, as in thinking of it as a changed, often tapering, cylindrical shape made out of a few good, yet versatile cloth, then specific, assorted flowers and non-mammalian animals have hair. the previous solutions provide you some examples. you may call the hairs 'setae', 'trichobothria', 'urticating hairs', or something you care to. those kinds of hairs have a style of applications inclusive of protection, insulation/water-retention, sensory function, substrate attachment or 'stickiness' or signalling/attractiveness structures. In different words, surprisingly lots the comparable kinds of issues mammalian hairs are used for. If, conversely, you have desperate that purely mammals have 'genuine hair', then you certainly ought to accomplish a little hair-splitting definitions with the intention to cut up the hair-like structures of mammals from the hair-like structures of each thing else. i'm unlikely to get into that, as I even tend to choose the greater effective element of issues particularly than the rigidly dogmatic element.
