I'll take what I consider to be weird over what I consider to be uninteresting any day. To me, its a zero sum game.

Would life be easier? Perhaps, but easy isn't necessarily preferable. Easy is a relative term. If we were stupid, the life of an animal would still be hard. Cows don't live a life of eating and milking, eating and milking because they find it easy - they can't handle any more than that intellectually.

If life was 'easier' and we were like animals, then we would be the servants of some other creature - like the cow is to Man. Would you really want give up the ability to ask your question and ponder the answers so you can be a 'cow' for Man - particularly if that means heading for the slaughterhouse?

Unfortunately, I have met many people who behave and think just like animals, and their lives don't seem easier to me. They are constantly in some distress or another. Some are working like donkeys, some are mating like rabbits, some are fearful and ignorant, some are vicious and unmerciful, some are incapable of compassion and empathy, some can only function in a "herd" and are incapable of standing alone. Animals concern themselves with eating, sleeping, mating, and defending. They struggle very hard, and endure much hardship and misery existing on that level. Our ability and responsibility to think may be difficult, but we can apply our thoughts to bettering our selves and our environments. Animals cannot.

First of all, it would not be easier if we were like other animals. 'cause as strange as it may sound, animals have their own weird life. You think that their life is simple? then you are wrong, at least to them, life would be as complicated as life is to us. the reason that their life seems "easier" is because their brain doesn't have enough capacity for harder tasks, and it would be hard for them to cope with life even though to us, their life seems less strange or complicated.

If we were like other animals, wouldn'n you miss the material things that you posses now. Besides, who says that animals are stupid. Maybe they have their own little world like we do and they wonder the same thing about their lives. Life dosen't have to be weird. As long as you have your friends and family with you then you can't complain about life.

Life is weird, but the power that we have as humans is the only thing that allows us to live free. If you don't like being able to think, there are plenty of people in this world that would be happy to think for you.

I agree, it makes life weird. Seems like a curse and blessing at the same time.

Perhaps we're more like other animals than we think. We simply do not facilitate those devices as readily as other animals because we're more distracted by our own thoughts.
