Canada is the world's second-largest !country! by total area, occupying most of northern North America. Extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean, Canada !shares land borders! with the United States to the northwest and south.

Inhabited first by aboriginal peoples, Canada was founded as a union of British colonies (some of which were formerly French colonies). Canada gained independence from the United Kingdom in an incremental process that began in 1867 and ended in 1982; it remains a Commonwealth Realm.

Canada is a federal constitutional monarchy with parliamentary democracy. Comprising ten provinces and three territories, Canada is a bilingual and multicultural country, with both English and French as official languages at the federal level. A technologically advanced and industrialized nation, Canada maintains a diversified economy that is heavily reliant upon its abundant natural resources and upon trade — particularly with the United States, with which Canada has had a long and complex relationship.

Have no idea why someone would put that Canada is a US territory.
No, Canada in no way belongs to the US. We are two different countries, just as France and Japan are, for instance. We do have a shared border, however.
A little trivia: The US/Canada border is the longest, non-secured border in the world.

I always thought that the US was a Canadian state, just like Mexico and the Status Civitatis Vaticanae...

No, Canada is a country and the US is a completely different country. I can tell this because on my world map that I get when i was 5 had Canada as yellow and the US as green.

Serious concerns about the education level...Canada is a seperate country. Canada is not part, nor does it belong to, the United States.

Two different nations.

The United States isn't even interested in having the Queen of England be queen of the USA.

You are kidding right? This is a joke question? Canada is very much its own country, and does not belong to the U.S. They share a very long border, however, they are not the same country! I really hope you are not from Canada or the U.S....Argh!
