THE WAY I SEE IT IS,IF ANYONE HAS THE DESIRE TO EARN A G.E.D,THEN I COMMEND THEM.
I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH LOTS OF PEOPLE THAT JUST PASSED , BECAUSE THE TEACHERS WANTED TO GET RID OF THEM.
I DROPPED OUT IN MY JR YEAR,AND GOT MY G.E.D.,LIKE 12 YRS LATER.

Equal? Well suppose to but, being an employer if two people came to me with the same qualifications and I had to choose. If one had a high school diploma and the other a GED I would take the one with the high school diploma.

No a GED is an eauivelancy to a diploma. Most of the places I have worked at have never asked for either or and usually on apps. they are listed together as far as graduating from high school.

Yes. Always better to get a high school diploma. But a GED is fine if that is what you have to do. Better than nothing.

Yes,, a GED is frowned upon at most companies that are looking to hire... they would hire the person with the highschool diploma rather than the GED graduate..

Although a GED is supposed to be the equivalent of a diploma, it really isn't. There is no replacement for an education.

i heard that they are supposed to be equivalent, but the diploma is sooo much better to have than the GED. i have a diploma and knew friends who went to options and their GED isn't getting them the jobs that they want. so strive to get that diploma.

People seem to frown on it because it is indicative of one not completing a required task in the allotted time. But the truth is education wise, it's the same thing...thus the E for equivalency. Be proud of yourself for getting that and moving on to college. Good for You!

i think it is worse bc there is so much information youve missed out on and that you may never get to recover it unless you go back to highschool and learn it in class like you should have. good luck again!!!
