So Many people I know draw a disability check and food stamps each month and these people work on the side and make even more money. So if there so disabled how are they working and doind hard manual labor and still drawing a check each month and these people are in there early 20's to there 30's. How is it Fair that our goverment gives them checks and not the people out there who are truly in pain and suffering and actually need that 500.00 to 600.00 a month to survive. Isnt there someway that us as American Citizens can fix this???? And please dont say write a letter cause I already did and that dont work. And please dont say report the people to the Social Security Administration cause I already have. What can we do so our taxes quit reporting lazy people ?

Apparently you all are not understanding this. I know atleast 20 - 25 people who are physically and mentally able to work but laugh about having a check and being able to screw the goverment out of the money im sure most of you know these types of people that as soon as they get there checks they blow the money on drugs and alchol and a few nights of parting I know one couple that draws 1200.00 a month all together. There not married but they live together And they have not reported it to the Goverment. They both work on the side and make like 8-10 dollars an hour. Ok my boyfriend works 40+ hours a week and we barely scrap by and we are doing it leagllay neither one of us draws a check. How is this Fair ???

Government is inherently unfair.

Abolish welfare and other government aid programs, which are ridiculous, useless, wasteful, and a form of slavery. These types of 'public assistance' are best left to the private sector which can more effectively provide such assistance without ulterior motives.

You could stop paying taxes as a petition for redress, though this subject is still unanswered by the Supreme Court. See: http://www.givemeliberty.org/RTPLawsuit/InfoCenter.htm

In my experience it is only ever a few people who take advantage of the system, in comparison to many people who are drawing disability checks that really do need them.

I think the only way to truly fix this kind of problem, is for us to aim towards the creation of a society in which there is no poverty, and no homelessless. In which everyone can have an education and a job. Only when there is no one truly going without out, will greed and dishonesty stop.

Those that get these funds are people who, if they had gotten educated, were not sociopaths, were not lazy, were not addicted to substances, would be the managers and CEO's of companies. They spend their time trying to figure out how to screw the government and get "free" money rather than putting their brains to work actually making money and becoming successful. Those that are in real need are always meek, uneducated and do not have a scheme to defraud others. In other words, the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

The money those on disabilty get and with foodstamps is not enough to live. When I was 14, lived with my sis who was 10 and my fully disabled mom. If not for others giving her money and family helping out, wouldn't of made it. She infact did the mystery shopper thing which payed like 10 to 15 per job to get some extra. So in those situations then I understand.

However if its the reverse, somebody who can work fine, and is getting disabilty to steal money or get extra, (diff then a truly disabled person needing more money to live), then they should be severly punished.

The qualifications and limitations are flawed, it needs to be fixed from the roots.

what more do you want? You can report them, that's about all. You can't expect someone to do an in-depth investigation of each and every applicant/recipient. Can you imagine how much that would cost? Why not do your duty as a citizens and continue reporting them. Don't rely on the government to do everything.

Yes. Very few are abusing the system. Most are honest and upfront about it.
