Absolutely the US is becoming more commercialized.Less than 5 years ago doctors and lawyers would not stoop so low as to advertise their services. The ones who did were sleazeballs.Commercials on tv and radio run at such a fast rate so they can get more info crammed into a small spot because the cost is so high.Same with cartoons and tv programs, they go by so fast that you can barely absorb what is being said and I believe that is a partial cause for ADD. It distorts cocentration.Everyone seems to be trying to keep up with the Jones's. I know progress is good but at a good pace.Have you noticed that the couples these days start out with more than it took their parents their whole life to accumulate? As for gifts, they should come from the heart and not to impress or outdo someone else's gift .I'm not that old but I wish the world would slow down and I think commercialism is a big part of our problem.

thrilling question. i think of a variety of of the scientific advances might have come from Europe besides because of the fact a variety of of the U. S. are descended from ecu colonists. perchance the techniques does not have befell as right now in spite of the undeniable fact that because of the fact Europe replace into economically crippled after the 1st international conflict. usa of america's intervention interior the wars and its advocacy for self selection a great deal helped velocity up the efforts to guard peace in Europe. notwithstanding if different than that i don't think of the international may be in a lots worse state than that's on the 2d. Human rights flow might have went on regardless and great Britain in specific replace right into a huge hotspot for Asian and African immigration. if certainty be told the united kingdom is a much extra multicultural society immediately than the U. North American society in general has become materialistic beyond reason, in my opinion. We are decadently spoiled and have no real appreciation for what we have. Greed has become common place and yes, I think it is most unhealthy.
I work for a very wealthy family. Originally born in Canada, they made their fortune in the States so have pledged their allegiance to that country. They live 6 months in the States and 6 months in Canada -- a country and people they no longer even like except for their exquisite mansion on the Pacific Ocean and extensive gardens. These people have more stuff than 20 people could possibly use ... and most of it useless. It's all for show. They are wonderful people and I love them dearly, but my lady, despite having acquired all these things she buys to attain whatever she feels must be lacking in her collection of stuff, remains unhappy. Yes, I understand she has "a problem" that doesn't necessarily apply to all consumers but she is still a victim of our society's gluttony. Diseased, or more accurately "dis-eased". It only takes less than one hour of watching American (or Canadian) TV to answeer your question.

Hmm this maybe a little off the subject but I don't think family dinners should be going through the drive thru at mcdonalds while the kids are watching movies in the back seat...

Well, money makes the world go round. Where else would we get the money to send all this aid to all these poor nations. But sometimes it does seem to get out of control, like there are kids in grade school with cell phones.
