Can't everyone tell George W. Bush isn't a smart man? Why do people back a president who is so obviously below the IQ average? He can't say more than 2 sentences without a pause or a stutter! Are "morals" that important to us that intelligence takes a back seat?

i agree with you, george bush is definatly below average when it comes to iq. but i think that some people skip over that and see his ideals (which i dissagree with) as more important than his smarts. he also went to yale (because he had connetions, not because he was smart) and some people might look at that and say "whoa, smart guy". yes, it doesn't make that mush sense. bush was a stange choice.

No it isn't the most important thing. Just because you are smart doesn't mean you can be leader. Being president isn't about being the smartest guy in the room. Also your assumption of Bush being a moron is just false. He's a Yale graduate with an MBA, and no his dad did not get him the degree. How do you know what Bush's IQ is? You are the one who is a moron because you can't come up with any real argument or make a statement with substance. If bush is so dumb, why did he run circles around the democrats for his first 6 years in office?

To be president, you need to know what is going on in the world. Bush isn't a smart man also by trying to ban gay marriages. He doesn't seem to understand that Marriage is the bond between two people that love each other. And love has no gender. And, he may send more troops to Iraq, when honestly that we aren't the World Police. We can't stop things like what was going in on Iraq. We could subdue it, but the way they are attacking the troops, we ARE NOT doing much at all. It's pointless being over there when they're supposedly fighting for our freedom, bah Bush just wants his precious oil from there.

1) Bush is smart enough to earn 2 Ivy League degrees. How many do you have?
2) I don't put much stock in IQ's. The human brain is far to complex to reduce to 1 number.
3) Albert Einstein was a genious. Would he have been a good president? I'm sure he didn't think so.
4) Morals DO matter.

which journey? being a POW isn't an journey that qualifies for the presidency. do not you discover curious that the in reality overseas u . s . a . that desires to confirm him as president of the U. S. is Vietnam? Being a maverick isn't a severe high quality i opt for to confirm in a president> men with erratic attitudes are risky. talking about braveness, it truly is a reality the guy had demanding cases in his existence. yet no better than human beings scuffling with hostile to their maximum cancers, or after an twist of destiny. i'd opt for to remind you that as a POW, even as he desirous to stay in reformatory really of having loose, this became because there have been some situations he might want to no longer settle for like: "i visit loose you on the prompt , yet when i do, you signal a reality holding that u . s . are incorrect and killing innocents" this way of deal became oftentimes proposed to POW in Vietnam. very few universal. those who universal were dishonorably discharged . I keep in mind a short action picture the position we see Mc Cain the day of his liberation holding he might want to no longer wait to confirm his spouse he loved a lot. properly some months later he filled a divorce software. per chance it truly is the way he will love u.s. even as he's president if he receives elected to boot to, what quite concerns isn't unavoidably the president himself besides the undeniable fact that the crew he surrounds himself with... seem at George Bush. the guy by himself is only an common guy who on some degrees might want to also be attaching , yet his crew is a collection of evil human beings. What I see round John Mc Cain is an similar type of evil lobbyists and retards. Our u . s . a . merits extra useful than that

Well said, arcticchick! LOL! George Bush does not obviously have a below average IQ. You're obviously just another Bush Basher. Bush has both intelligence and morals, which makes him a strong leader.

First, the President is not "obviously below the IQ average". He holds degrees from two Ivy League universities.

Second, the two most important qualities in a president should be his message and his ability to lead. President Carter was without a doubt one of our most intelligent presidents, but he had no discernable philosophy and he couldn't lead a man who was dying of thirst to a water bottle. Conversely, while I think he was the greatest president of the Twentieth Century, President Reagan was less intelligent than Carter. What he lacked in that department was more than made up for by his faith in what he believed in and his ability to communicate it to the public and get them to follow his lead.

Intelligence is useless if there is no wisdom.
I hear what you're saying about Bush, but is your last question implying that he has more 'morals' than intelligence?
Thou shalt not kill is a fairly simple moral, and anyone with even just a few marbles knows this.
How do we define being smart or intelligent? What may be smart to one person, may be basic knowledge to another.
Nevertheless, your question got me thinking, and i like it.
Can we have leaders who are smart and wise please?
