I'm not staying at a hotel within the Disney World resort, and I would like to know if there is an efficient way to get from one of the parks to another. Do the buses have numbers? Can I take a different bus that goes directly between the parks? Say from the Magic Kingdom to EPCOT? EPCOT to Downtown Disney? How long does it take?

Yes!!! Disney transportation is so easy!!! You can travel from park to park as well as all the water parks and Downtown Disney. Theres a monorail that runs from the TTC(transportation and Ticket center) to Magic Kingdom as well as several hotels. A separate monorail line runs from the TTC to Epcot, so you can travel between those two via monorail and the TTC. The most efficient way to go though is by buses. There are bus ports outside every park, as well as several spots along Downtown Disney. There are signs signifying which bus goes where, be it park to park, waterparks DownTown, the TTC... wherever.
Travel time varies depending on where you are going, and from where. Also factor in how busy the World is too. Most buses arrive at any given spot every 5-15 minutes.
Also note that there are guidlines as to what Transportation you can use. Officially you are supposed to be a resort guest to use the monorail lines, though no one has ever checked my ticket. You should have no problem using the bus lines. If you are at all concerned, you are best to contact Disney @ 407- 824- 4321
