Good choices...
American Beauty is so realistic... as nice and neat as that family appeared, they were SO screwed up. So much drama on the inside and such a pretty painted picture on the outside.
Twister... LOVE that movie... reassured me to NEVER move to the Midwest
Point Break... I watch that entire movie to watch Bodhi try to ride that enormous wave in Australia at the end.

American Beauty is painful in its earnest and honest portrayal of the American Dream's reality. The festuring emorional sores that irritate just below the surface until they finally just ... bammm.
Love that movie
Interesting grouping American Beauty/Twister/Point Break
Personally, I never thought much of Twister, although it has THE best villian in the world ... ever ... An Evil Meterologist!!! complete with evil black weather van!
, but Point Break is a great guilty pleasure movie, K.Reeves at his completely overacting best! And its got Anthony Kiedis (or was it Flea) from the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Interesting choices.
American Beauty was really good.
Twister was just stupid. You've got this gi-normous tornado ripping through the movie, and yet Bill Paxton ties his JC Penny belt around a pipe and he and blondie are gonna be safe? WTF?
Point Break was surprisingly better than I thought. It's a shame that the Fast and the Furious stole the whole story for their movie. I mean, Christ, scene for scene it's exactly the same thing:
Young cop goes undercover to infiltrate a gang of thieves, becomes best buds with the leader, has love interest with the female who is close to the gang, he busts the wrong gang, then he lets the leader go.
The only difference between Point Break and FAF is that Keanu and Patrick did a much better job then Paul and Vin.

At first, I thought it was going to be a sappy movie but it really pulled me in. I loves movies that have you reflected on your < American Beauty.
Twister had a lot of special effects that I liked. I really didn't think it had a great plot. Its seemed like the twister was chasing them.
Point Break was pretty cool

American Beauty is a good film, tweister is great fun, Point break is laughable for the wrong reasons. I mean the surfboard was less wooden than Keanu!

I liked American Beauty but it was hyped so much that I was disappointed when I finally saw it because it wasn't what I was expecting.
Twister was laughable but I still liked it.
I've never seen Point Break from beginning to end but I've enjoyed what I've seen.

Great movie! To me the main thing that stands out is that freaky video camera guy who ernestly looks for beauty in an horrific world. To often we focus on the bad stuff, when all around us is real beauty. If only we had eyes to see....

I agree...it was a very deep but realistic movie. The ending was the best part;b/c you aren't expecting the kid's father to be gay and Kevin Spacey to die at the end. It made me cry; but it was an awesome movie!

American Beauty was interesting but it was terrible.
Its the one movie i feel changed the way the oscars are ran.. it proved only monkeys must have voted for it...
same monkeys who put that year's super bowl half time show together.
