Okay I am so scared, I look @ a digital clock and it says "8:11, 10:11, ect." I'm sick of it, it means something I know it does, I always have this feeling at 9:11 though, its just crazy it has started about one year ago and it never quits. Please help, have you experienced this? Does it mean something?

I have had the exact same experience, but I kept seeing the time 9:44 every time I looked at a digital clock. This happened about 20 years ago. I sometimes thought it meant something awful like the time I would die or something. Now after 20 years, I know it was just a coincidence when I would see that time. Back then I kept fixating on it and it did bother me for a while, but after all this time I don't even really think about it anymore. Believe me, it's just your imagination getting the best of you. Try seeing how many times you see the number 10 for example during the day. I think I probably fixated on that number because I really did want SOMETHING to happen to me, ANYTHING. Life was so boring. Once I started to get older and things started to happen to me (good things) I forgot all about the 9:44 thing. You're not crazy and there is nothing ominous about seeing the number 11. My guess is that you need to get out their in the world, enjoy your life and forget about looking at the clock all the time. P.S. I don't even wear a watch anymore!

You most likely look at the clock at other times during they day as well. For some reason, you are particularly remembering when the clock says 11. This is nothing to worry about. There might be something in your memory regarding the number 11, which isn't so important in this case.

On the other hand, you might be looking at the clock at the 11th minute all the time the same way people have a "body clock." Like they wake up at the same time every day, or they subconsciously do the same thing at a certain time each day. This is also completely normal.

You have nothing to worry about, you're perfectly normal.

I hope I was helpful. Good luck!

You are actually training yourself to look for 11.

Don't believe it? Count the number of times you look at the clock when it ISN'T at 8:11, 10:11, etc.

Its a result of the way the human mind functions. The technical name is the Baader-Meinhof Effect.

Quote:

The reason for this is our brains' prejudice towards patterns. Our brains are fantastic pattern recognition engines, a characteristic which is highly useful for learning, but it does cause the brain to lend excessive importance to unremarkable events. Considering how many words, names, and ideas a person is exposed to in any given day, it is unsurprising that we sometimes encounter the same information again within a short time. When that occasional intersection occurs, the brain promotes the information because the two instances make up the beginnings of a sequence. What we fail to notice is the hundreds or thousands of pieces of information which aren't repeated, because they do not conform to an interesting pattern. This tendency to ignore the "uninteresting" data is an example of selective attention.

In point of fact, coincidences themselves are usually just an artifact of perception. We humans tend to underestimate the probability of coinciding events, so our expectations are at odds with reality. And non-coincidental events do not grab our attention with anywhere near the same intensity, because coincidences are patterns, and the brain actually stimulates us for successfully detecting patterns… hence their inflated value. In short, patterns are habit-forming.

But when we hear a word or name which we just learned the previous day, it often feels like more than a mere coincidence. This is because Baader-Meinhof is amplified by the recency effect, a cognitive bias that inflates the importance of recent stimuli or observations. This increases the chances of being more aware of the subject when we encounter it again in the near future.
