It sounds like a sprain. In a mild wrist sprain maybe slightly swollen and tender. And probably feel mild pain when you move it.

Severe pain swelling can change the shape of your wrist and you can may have some bruising (a black and blue discoloration). I would have it checked out before i practiced, you dont want to ruin your baseball career, now do you?

Well it could be either one. I'm not a profressional but it sounds like a cyst. If it was a sprain, it would be swollen and blackish-blue. I suggest you call your coach and tell him you have a cyst on your wrist, and it hurts to bend your wrist. Tell him you don't want to risk it popping and have it get infected. Your coach will probably understand, if not, still don't go. It could be really bad if that pops, you have to worry about infections, and not to mention the pain, get a brace or something to make sure it doesn't come in contact with to many things. Keep off it. If you have any questions, call your nearest clinic, you don't to go to the hospital, but you're local clinic should give you some more info.

hmm..that's interesting..maybe its just a sprain. I had a sprained wrist one time, and i myself play baseball.., and i went to practice..IT WASNT THE SMARTEST THING TO DO! My wrist started to get swollen..and it began to hurt more every time i released the ball..so i suggest u stay off it until the Doctor tells you when its right to practice..good luck with it! Ohh! ans ICE it! Put some ice on it for like 30 minutes to an hour, it really helps!

It may be a ganglion cyst. It should be ok to throw (as long as you can tolerate the pain). Worse comes to worse, the cyst breaks open and drains away. It may go away by itself or an orthopedic dr. may be able to remove it under genral anaestesia

Only a doctor who examines you can tell you if it is a cyst or not.
