i'm 25 and my friend is 24. we work together and email each other through out the day in our office. She asked me the other day what my first impression of her was when she first started work. I didn't answer her until monday over email. I told her that i liked her instantly and i thought she was shy and etc. I then asked her what she thought of me. she said i was nice, eager to help, and a little sarcastic. Then she wanted to know what i thought about her now. So i told her. and then she told me what she thought about me. Now my question is. Do normal friends who are girls ask this to each other or is there an attraction there. i will admit, i am attracted to her but i don't know if she is with me. This exchange seems to me like a guy and a girl would email each other. Do you think she had the same ideas as me?

just a little more info to do away with confusion. we're really good friends. we hang out outside of work and do stuff all the time. the other day we went to the mall and got cornered by a saleswoman. as we listened to her my friend put her elbow on my shoulder and leaned on me, then fixed my collar and sliding her hand down my shoulder. then told the woman me and her would have to talk it over to see if we'll get the product. She even made a comment later that the woman must have thought we were together because what she said. if you want more info on us, just click on my name i ask lots of questions about her with more details of our relationship.

I can't claim to know much about lesbian relationships. Honestly, I'm the typical early twenties male who only knows about what he reads in playboy.

That said, I just wanted to mention that it would be a better idea to invite her out for a drink or something, or have lunch. You can never tell over e-mail what kind of inflection a person is using. It could just be a friendly chat. It could be flirting. The only way to know for sure is to talk to her face to face and gague her reaction then. But there's no way of knowing whether somebody is really into you, boy, girl, man, or woman, if your only interaction is over the internet.

My first thing to you would be get off the email. You don't know whether she's showing your emails up to the entire office and they're wondering the same thing as you are. And that would be sick. Why don't you people have conversations on the telephone? No paper trail at least. Just in case she is not interested and is just having some fun at your expense?

I felt like you story was going to end like that when you started about the emails... It does seem like that or just really close friends. I have not actually done this with my friend, but it wasn't taken too seriously, it just happened to be what we were talking about lately. You said she was shy, so ther's not true sign of no attraction at this point.

Could be. Set up a time when you go to one of your homes for movies and perhaps an overnight. That should tell the story.

I don't think girls would ask another girl that question. I think she likes you. I would feel strange asking my friend those questions of the same sex.
