Ive heard your friends choose you. And ive found that to be true. If you ever feel you have to try to hard to be someones friend then perhaps you dont need them in your life anyway. People you meet throughout life should sense your value as a human being by actually taking the time to get to know you as a person and if they dont have the good sense to see how your friendship would be valuable to them then they have done you a favor by not wasting your time and letting you know they have poor taste.

It's common for me, and I'm only 21.

I find that as I get older, I become more selective in choosing my friends. I've gotten to a point in my life where I pretty much know the kind of people that I want to associate myself with, and it's more and more difficult to find others who fit that archetype.

I've found that within my circle of friends, others have also left their friends behind. One of my best friends just recently cut three people out of his life, not to be vindictive, just because they had less and less to talk about. (Those three were also potheads who did little more than play Madden '06 and get high every night)

I wouldn't worry about it. It happens to all of us. It just means that you've grown up and you care more about who you spend time with.

Values change, lifestyles change, you get more mature, maybe you or they get married or divorced, etc, likes and dislikes change, people move away,
IN OTHER WORDS :"LIFE HAPPENS"
yes it is common and you will adjust and compensate
