I watched this movie along time ago when i was a kid that had these rabid sewer rats in it. I think one scene was where this baby sitter was watching this baby, and she had the baby in a high-chair and she left to go do something, and when she returned, the rats had attacked the baby. All in all, its about these sewer rats that go on a killing spree. this movie freaked me out as a kid, but now Id like to see it again, or atleast figure out what it's called. i think it came out between 1978 and 1983.

Dan C,
I dont think this is it. Its close, but I dont remember anything about a man who trains these rats to attack people. From what little i remember, the rats are either evel, or rabid and they just go on a killing spree.

I think it is Ben. In Ben, they killed this big rat that the kid had made friends with. However, it turned out that the big rat was just a baby rat and then the mom rat came in the end and attacked the family for killing her kid. Michael Jackson sang the theme song for this movie.

Sounds like Willard, and the sequel Ben.
Willard was a guy who worked at a mailroom, and befriended the rats in his house. He had an army of them.
Had a lot of race relations overtones, one of his rats was a White Lab rat named Socrates, and he had a Black wild rat named Ben.
They didn't have rabies, they were very organized, very well disciplined. and it came out in 1973.
Near the end of Willard (double meaning there) Socrates and Ben are at the stockroom with Willard. Willard's boss comes in and sees Socrates, who is white and can't hide very well, Boss Man kills Socrates.
With Ben watching, and Socrates was his best friend.
Ben is intent after that of killing the whole human race, because of what they had done to his bud.
They had already killed Willard's mom and his girlfriend. Willard tries to stop Ben's plans by poisoning the army of rats, Ben catches on to the plan and they off Willard.
End of story, OR IS IT?
Next movie comes out, Ben. the name of the movie and starring guess who, or rather What?
I didn't watch Ben. But the teaser commercials they had on the TeeVee were "Where Willard left off, Ben Begins".
and you're right, it is a freaky show.

I think I know the movie youre talking about, but only because I read the book, Ive never seen the movie. The book was "The Rats", by James Herbert. He apparently didn't write the screenplay, but they credit him with the novel. THe movie is called ":Deadly Eyes"

I don't know the one you are talking about, but there is another rat movie that freaked me out. Try watching Willard. It's really weird and gross too.
