I just wrote an exercise about this. Perhaps it will get you jump-started. But be very careful. Space your descriptions throughout your story. We don't need all the description up front. Many modern authors do very little describing. My article gets into this and will show you some examples.

Do you have a good Thesaurus?
Sometimes when I'm writing I make a list of the sort of words that fit my character. So I might start with cunning and the thesaurus might give me wily, sneaky, etc. It's a great way to expand your vocabulary.
