Yes, I think so. You can go to the public colleges and universities without spending a penny from your own pocket. Why do a lot of parents complain that they can't afford to send their children to college?

Yes state colleges are affordable, and there are a multitude of options for alternative funding like Scholarships, loans, and some companies provide tuition reimbursement for their employees.

It is much more economical to attend a junior/community college for the first 2 years and then follow up at a university.

I believe parents are overwhelmed by the entire cost and don't consider options like the Pell Grant or loans.

If you want to go and your parents can not help don't let that stop you assistance is everywhere.

I am attending uni in the USA and I fully agree with the idea that if people were not in fear of not being able to afford health cover there would be a lot less poverty. If nothing else loads of people depending on the cover given to disabled people and others in the underclass would gladly work. The government keeps people here down. Agreed on college education as well. Some don't want an education and they would remain among those who are tradespeople, clerks, secretaries and others in the support fields. To force people who would like to do better to stay at lower levels of living is the American brand of tyranny. I was just talking to a mate about it. The concept of worker ants with no chances being held down and being convinced that "America is the best country in the world." Codswallop!

What college are you going to, that you don't have to pay anything or pay anything back! I think it is expensive! I think the price of books are way overpriced, than can go cheaper and still make a profit. The problem is those professors like to keep their pockets full.

Hell no. What about the children that are on Welfare when little?? Their parents cannot obviously help them pay for it... or just normal people, !?!? It is too expensive, therefor should be changed in some way. Confusious was a great teacher, and yet he helped students who couldn't pay but were willing to learn.

Private colleges are getting really expensive. But you are right, most public colleges are still affordable.
