It's a long shot, but try undressing him. Maybe he has a string wrapped around a finger/toe or a tag is scratching him or something.
Try swaddling him and bouncing/patting while making a rhythmic "shshsh" noise.
Try bicycling his legs. Maybe there is some gas that needs worked out.

The best solution of all: try to be patient. You could consult with your pediatrician to see if this is normal for your baby; he might have intolerance to milk, have gas any number of things that may be easily resolved by taking care of the particular situation that might be causing your baby to be restless. Take a deep breath, try to relax and ask your pediatrician. Also keep in mind that babies that small tend to cry every 2-3 hours and that's considered completely normal. Some babies are colicky and cry every hour; remember, he's adjusting to life outside the womb. Good luck, and congratulations on the new baby!

Sounds like colic to me. One of my suggestions is this: Hold baby in one arm and run the vacuum with the other. From what I had read, and I do not remember the source, this is supposed to calm the baby. Another choice is a ride in the car or the stroller. Think about investing in a cradle.
My daughter used to like to suck my thumb before she became used to the pacifier.
Keep in mind that you must be consistent in soothing baby, even when at the first try, any one of these suggestions the baby doesn't take to at first. Eventually baby will become used to how you comfort him or her. Do not forget to feel confident in yourself and your own judgement. Last but not least, even baby will outgrow his or her "fussiness stage".

Poor little one, poor you too! It can be so hard because you try everything and your baby still is upset. Yes, everyone else is right, sounds like colic. You can get drops at the drug store, they are baby friendly and really work. I have four children and only one had colic. It only lasted a couple of months (happily). I would often lay her on her back on my bed or a mat and rub her tummy or push her little knees up to her tummy (the pushing seemed to help). I hope he feels better soon. Is he breast fed or on formula? If he's on formula you can get gentler ones for sensitive tummy babies.

If it's colic, a bottle of warm water will help.
Unfortunately, if the baby won't eat, you should take him into the hospital. A baby that young can get dehydrated quickly.
(I hate to say this, but I've had two kids that were whinny before they both ended up in the hospital. Ironically, they BOTH had e. coli meningitis. The 1st one didn't make it, while the other is perfectly fine.) I don't mean to scare you, but you should take him in if a warm water bottle doesn't work. Especially if he hasn't eaten for a long period of time.

Okay I have been in this boat our daughter is almost 10 months old we seriously would have to turn the vaccum cleaner on the sound of it soothed her. Then we bought one of them pictures that light up and make the outdoor sounds it worked wonders in her room. Also you might wanna try gas relief drops them also helped her out. If none of this helps I would also talk to the doctor cause maybe his formula isnt the kind he should be on. I hope this helps.

He probably has colic. It is where gas gets trapped inside his tummy. My younger brother cried for 6 months straight because of it. Try gas drops talk to your doc, it might be somethign you just have to wait out.

Probably air / collic. You can get something over the counter and sometimes milk (cows milk) causes this. Try switching to soy and see if it works.
