I am having a terrible time finding information for a high-end liquor/cigar store start-up. I haven't been able to find anything on the net and the suppliers I've called haven't really been able to give me information (they seem to be ready to take numbers, not give them). A couple of them suggested that I contact other liquor store owners and get their imput so I did. No one will respond to my calls or emails. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how I can go about getting this information?

Depending on the state, but I think its very hard to get permits for this. Some cities even has zoning rules to prevent them from being built. Its a major headache. If you really want to, go ask for the SBA. They have a program for free where they get you a former businessman in this area to help start a business. I think its called score. You can google SBA. its a government agency. I think its called small business agency or something

You'll save a lot of time if you bought an existing business...for one thing, traffic will have been established.
