The truth is that this is for my friend that is loosing her house on the 29th of this month, is there anything else she can do so that she will not have to stay on the streets, she has a 13 year old boy with her.

Even if she is approved right away, that doesn't mean that housing will be available for her. Some areas have Section 8 waiting lists that are years long. She should also investigate all other affordable housing options in addition to Sec. 8.

The waiting list for Section 8 varies, but in most American cities have wait lists of 2-5 years.

It can and usually does take years. But when it kicks in its well worth the wait
