Of course! Detroit is and always has been a great sports town and especially for hockey. Detroit displayed it could hold major events when it hosted the Super Bowl last year! I don't think it will be long before we see the NHL All Star game in Detroit once again.

Due to the recent revitatlization of downtown Detroit for the Super Bowl and the new football and baseball stadiums, I believe there is a good chance for the NHL All Star to return to Detroit in the next 10 years. Given my current age, that should be well within in my lifetime.

Theres a chance, but probably not. I'm feeling Detroit may get it in 20 years or so, but that'll be to show off the new arena they just built. So the Joe will get passed up.

Will they build a new Arena and name it Joe Louis? If not then I am not as sure. I am almost sure that the city will get a All-Star game though.

I hope so, but the Joe is an old rink and for events like these the NHL wants the top of the line brand new shiny rink for it. Though they redid a lot of the inside and it looks great.
