"The Pill" is a prescription medication. You may have to work a deal and pay the whole thing yourself if you don't want "someone" to know.

There isn't a whole lot of variation from one birth control pill to another. If you're using birth control pills to not get pregnant, not for other medical reasons, it shouldn't matter too much what you choose. I would recommend trying to get a prescription rather than over the counter though, just to be a little bit safer. It can't hurt to ask a doctor either.

You don't have to use your insurance if you don't want to. Simply take or transfer your prescription to a different drug store than the one you usually use, and when they ask if you have insurance that you would like to use, tell them "no." Pay cash, and there's very little way for anybody to trace the fact that you have purchased birth control (pharmacy records are confidential).

Yes, they sell condoms, sponges, spermicides, female condoms, dental dams, and some pharmacies dispense Plan B/"Morning After" pills.
But birth control, as in pills or shots, can only be gotten at your doctor or health dept, or local women's health clinic (i.e. Planned Parenthood).

No you have to have a prescription in order to get birth control pills, in order to get a prescription you have to see a doctor who will give you a pelvic exam.
