Hi Meganne. I believe dreaming (both day and night) occur in the central region of the brain - the limbic system. there is where the amygdala is located which is our emotional system.

If you want to roll your sleeves up, you might want to take a look on the wikipedia link above at the 'Nucleus accumbens' link. I don't know anything about this region but I would associate 'Involved in reward, pleasure, and addiction' with day-dreaming. This is also called the 'pleasure center'.
